Ed Sheeran postponed his Allegiant Stadium concert on Saturday night, Sept. 9 — only 90 minutes before his opening act was to take the stage! That left at least 40,000 devastated fans, most of whom flew into Las Vegas just for the show.
“I can’t believe I’m typing this but there’s been some challenges encountered during the load in of our Vegas show,” Sheeran posted to Instagram at 5:45 p.m. PT. “It’s impossible to go forward with the show. I’m so sorry. I know everyone has travelled in for this and I wish I could change it.”
The show was postponed to Saturday, Oct. 28, with all of Saturday’s tickets valid for the new date.”
Aguilera Coming NYE
Christina Aguilera is planning the next residency after Kylie Minogue’s at Voltaire at The Venetian. According to multiple sources quoting reliable insiders, the residency will kick off with a pair of New Year’s Eve shows Dec. 30-31. A run of 16-20 dates is on the table.
Aguilera’s residency will dovetail nicely with Minogue’s inaugural stint of 20 sold-out dates at the 1,000-capacity theater. The Aussie superstar takes a break after Dec. 15-16, and doesn’t resume her run until March 8. Audiences for the two artists would dovetail nicely, too. Minogue and Aguilera are both icons of the LGBQT community.
Aguilera’s previous residency, “The Xperience,” played 24 dates at Planet Hollywood before being cut short by the pandemic shutdown in 2020.
Barry Manilow is set to break Elvis Presley’s record of 636 sellout shows at the Westgate — which, when Elvis did it, was known as the International and the Las Vegas Hilton — over the weekend of Sept. 21-23.
Country superstar Leann Rimes brings her holiday tour to The Venetian Theatre Dec. 15 and 16. Tickets to “Joy: The Holiday Tour,” starting at $40, are on sale now through Ticketmaster.
Though tickets for the debut Las Vegas residency of sixth-season “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Erika Jayne are still on sale through Ticketmaster and Live Nation for their original price of $69, resale sites such as Stubhub and Vivid Seats have seats to see her at Mandalay Bay’s House of Blues for as little as little as $7.
