Two fans without shirts ran onto the field during Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday before being apprehended by Allegiant Stadium’s security.
The men, identified by authorities as Sebastian Rivera, 22, and Alex Gonzalez, 23, were led away after the stunt and handed over to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers at about 6:15 p.m. PT. Both suspects were booked at Clark County Detention Center.
Each was charged with a misdemeanor for prohibited conduct at an athletic event, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Shortly after their arrests, they were released from custody and are due in local court on April 17.
Their presence on the field was spoken about by two veteran CBS sportscasters.
“Oh, we’ve got people on the field,” Tony Romo announced to the national TV audience.
Oh, my goodness, we do, we’ve got a streaker …” Jim Nantz added. “Partial streaker,” Romo corrected him.
The shirtless men were never shown on television.
Casino Brawl
A fight erupted at an unnamed Las Vegas casino following the game on Sunday night. The brawl involved fans of the Kansas City Chiefs and of the San Francisco 49ers. It included four unidentified men beating each other while on a casino floor.
One of the men was being held in a headlock and was getting punched repeatedly, according to the DailyMail.com.
Other casino patrons attempted to break up the struggle. There’s no word if any of the rowdy fans were arrested.
Initial social media posts didn’t identify in which casino the fight occurred.
Kelce, Reid Tension
Tensions were high among players during the game, too. The Chiefs’ Travis Kelce yelled at — and knocked into — Kansas City coach Andy Reid. Reid stumbled from the impact but wasn’t injured.
Lip reader Jeremy Freeman, later revealed to the New York Post that Kelce told Reid, “Hey, come on, you f**ker, put me on.”
Chiefs’ running back Jerick McKinnon immediately kept Kelce from further outbursts.
Later, Kelce hugged Reid. Reid patted his player’s back, the Post reported.
“As much as he bumps into me, I bump into him,” Reid told the media. “He caught me off balance.”
