A visitor from China staying at the Westin Las Vegas Hotel & Spa had his $50K watch swiped earlier this year. A reputed prostitute was arrested recently for snatching the pricey item.

The theft took place on August 7 when the hotel guest awoke to find his diamond-encrusted Hublot watch was missing.

Also stolen was a silver suitcase containing credit cards, Balenciaga slipper shoes, clothes, and an unspecified amount of cash. In total, the missing items were valued at $64K, according to Las Vegas TV station KLAS.

As police officers investigated the theft, they identified the suspect as Arreanna Ubando. She and another woman were accused of taking part in what police call a “trick roll,” which is when suspected prostitutes steal money or items from their customers.

Scene of the Crime

The Chinese man met the women at about 5 a.m. He claims he inadvertently bumped into one of the women while they were at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, according to KLAS. The unnamed visitor told police he wanted to make it up to the women, so he invited them to his hotel room at the Westin. The trio had drinks in the room.

At one point, he photographed the two women. Using the photo and surveillance video, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers identified one suspect as Ubando.

A background check revealed she has been charged in prior prostitution cases, KLAS reported. The identity of the second woman remains unknown.

Police said the suspected sex workers left the man’s room and walked out of the hotel onto Flamingo Road. One of the duo was carrying the suitcase.

Ubando was apprehended and booked on a variety of charges, including:

  • Grand larceny, value $25K but less than $100K
  • Residential burglary, first offense
  • Engaging in prostitution or solicitation

Ubando was released from custody after posting bond and is scheduled to return to court on Jan. 9, 2024.

Prior Trick Roll

In October, a woman in her late teens allegedly swiped two expensive Rolex watches from a man staying in a room at the Wynn Las Vegas.  He fell asleep and awoke to find the watches missing.

The watches were described as Rolex Presidential valued at $60,500 and $49,000, respectively. Stephens, like Ubando, was charged in prior prostitution cases.

The defendant, Tramiyah Stephens of Las Vegas, who is either 18 or 19 years old, was charged with grand larceny valued at $100K or more and engaging in prostitution, KLAS reported.
